Gel Polish & Reflections Silver & Gold Powder

Application & Removal Instructions

 

Please follow these instructions carefully for perfect application results. We cannot emphasize enough careful preparation of the nail surface. This is absolutely essential in order to achieve the desired finish and longevity.

Please remember that failure to cap or seal the free edge is the number one cause of chipping.

If the nail is prepared correctly and the free edges are sealed, clients can expect 2 to 3 weeks wear without chipping or loss of shine.

If clients experience a stinging sensation when hands are placed under the lamp, or are known to have damaged nails, apply a thin coat of GELLUV® Repair & Protect before applying gel polish. Cure for same length of time as Gel polish. Do Not remove sticky layer or touch the nail until all layers have been applied and cured.

Three step UV/LED Gel Polish 

3 – Three Step UV/LED Gel Polish

 

  1. Prepare and trim the nail/tip as required
  2. Lightly buff the surface of the nail to remove the shine. Remove dust and clean the nail plate with GELLUV®Prep & Wipe solution. Make sure the edges of the nail are properly buffed and cleaned
  3. Gently stir GELLUV®Gel Polish before application
  4. Apply GELLUV®Foundation gel polish onto the nail evenly with a thin application. Cap the free edge. Cure as per Lamp wattage
  5. Apply a layer of three-step gel polish onto the nail evenly with a thin application. Cap the free edge. Cure as per lamp wattage
  6. Cure under LED or UV Lamp – Curing time as follows* – 36W UV lamp – 60 seconds, 36W LED lamp 30 seconds
  7. Do Not Remove sticky layer. Do not touch layers until final coat has been applied, cured and residue removed
  8. Apply second layer of three-step gel polish, repeating steps 5 & 6
  9. Apply GELLUV®Seal & Gloss Top Coat or Glitter Top Coat, repeating steps 5 & 6
  10. Wipe off sticky residue using GELLUV®Prep & Wipe Solution with a lint free cotton pad
  11. Apply a thin layer GELLUV®Nourishing Cuticle Oil to cuticles

 

 

Precautions & Best Practice

Avoid contact with skin. Remove any gel that has accidentally come into contact with the skin before curing. Ideal thickness is 0.1mm – 0.2mm. Do not apply thick coats of the gel as this will cause cracking & bubbling. Opaque colours may need a 3rd thin coat if nail is still visible.

Do not touch the nail surface whilst it is curing.

Make sure the gel is fully exposed to the LED / UV Light when curing.

*Curing times may vary according to power of lamp used. Adjust times to suit.

Removal:

 

  1. Break the gloss finish of the polish using a nail file, removing as much of the gloss layer as possible without filing down to the natural nail.
  2. Soak a cotton ball with GELLUV®Professional Acetone and apply over the nail and wrap with aluminium foil
  3. Wait for 15-20 minutes. Remove the aluminium foil and cotton ball. Gently remove any gel residue with cuticle stick
  4. Clean the nails with nutrients.

Reflections Silver/Gold powder

 

 

Please follow these instructions to the letter. Powders must be applied over a layer of GELLUV® Gloss & Go – No Wipe Top Coat.

For best results use GELLUV® Ash Clouds for Silver/Chrome Mirror effect. Jet Black or Naturally White may also be used.

Gold Mirror Powder can be used over any non glitter colour. The powder allows shades of the base colour to show through and transforms the gold appearance from a bright yellow gold to varying shades of Rose Gold when used with any pink or red colour.

For best results use GELLUV® Clearly Pink, Plush Pink, Kiss Me, French Rose, Spring Kiss, Scandal or Scarlet Sensation.

     

     

    Application When Using Over 3 Step Polish:

     

    1. Prepare and trim the nail/tip as required
    2. Lightly buff the surface of the nail to remove the shine. Remove dust and clean the nail plate with GELLUV®Prep & Wipe solution. Make sure the edges of the nail are properly buffed and cleaned
    3. Gently stir GELLUV®Gel Polish before application
    4. Apply GELLUV®Foundation gel polish onto the nail evenly with a thin application. Cap the free edge. Cure as per Lamp wattage
    5. Apply a layer of three-step gel polish onto the nail evenly with a thin application. Cap the free edge. Cure as per lamp wattage
    6. Cure under LED or UV Lamp – Curing time as follows* – 36W UV lamp – 60 seconds, 36W LED lamp 30 seconds
    7. Do Not Remove sticky layer. Do not touch layers until final coat has been applied, cured and residue removed
    8. Apply second layer of three-step gel polish, repeating steps 5 & 6
    9. Apply a thin layer of GELLUV®Gloss & Go – No Wipe Top Coat – DO NOT OMMIT THIS STEP
    10. Cure as per step 6
    11. Apply Silver or Gold powder with applicator using circular motion until nail surface is covered
    12. Remove all excess powder particles using blusher brush or similar – This is important and helps prevent speckled finish
    13. Apply 2nd thin coat of GELLUV®Gloss & Go – No Wipe Top Coat – DO NOT OMMIT THIS STEP
    14. Repeat Steps 10, 11 & 12 until the desired finish is achieved (normally 2 coats of powder)

     

     

     

    How to use Gelluv Hybrid Builder Gel + Acrylic

     

    Natural Nails

     

    1. Prepare and trim the nail as required
    2. Lightly buff the surface of the nail to remove the shine. Remove dust and clean the nail plate with GELLUV®Nail Prep & Wipe solution. Make sure the edges of the nail are properly buffed and cleaned
    3. Apply a thin layer of Repair and Protect / Foundation
    4. Cure under an LED or UV lamp. 36W UV Lamp- 120 seconds 36W LED Lamp- 30 seconds
    5. DO NOT WIPE OR TOUCH THE TACKY LAYER AFTER CURING
    6. Apply a coat of GELLUV Hybrid Builder Gel
    7. Cure under Lamp for 120/30 seconds
    8. Apply a second coat of the Hybrid Builder Gel
    9. Cure
    10. After you’ve finished applying the Builder Gel and you’re happy with the strength, wipe with GELLUV Nail Prep and Wipe (alcohol)

    (Option to repeat step 8 and 9 again, dependant on desired thickness and strength)

    1. Buff the nail to level out the surface and take away the shine.
    2. Wipe with GELLUV Nail Prep and Wipe
    3. If a Gel colour is desired please follow guidelines for use with our 1 or 3 Step System.

     

    Nail Extensions (Plastic Tips)

     

    1. Prepare the nail and nail tip as required
    2. Remove dust and clean the nail with GELLUV®Prep & Wipe solution. Make sure the edges of the nail are properly buffed and cleaned
    3. Apply a thin layer of Repair and Protect/ Foundation
    4. Cure under LED or UV lamp 36W UV Lamp- 120 seconds 36W LED Lamp- 30 seconds
    5. DO NOT WIPE OR TOUCH THE TACKY LAYER AFTER CURING
    6. Apply a thin coat of GELLUV Hybrid Builder Gel
    7. Cure under Lamp for 120/30 seconds
    8. Create a bead down the middle of the nail and push to the edges of the nail. (The Gel is self-levelling)
    9. Cure

    (Option to repeat step 8 and 9 again, dependant on desired thickness and strength)

    1. After you’ve finished applying the Builder Gel, wipe with GELLUV Nail Prep and Wipe
    2. Buff the nail to level out the surface and take away the shine.
    3. Wipe with Nail Prep and Wipe
    4. If a Gel colour is desired please follow guidelines for use with our 1 or 3 Step System.
